Christmas trees, lights, candy canes, Christmas carols, hot cocoa; these are all things that remind us that it is Christmas time. These things that can spark so much excitement and joy in most of us, sadly, for so many, spark feelings of loneliness, fear, and worry. For that reason, RMA is organizing a Service project for The Road Home.
The Road Home is a private non-profit social services agency that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County and along the Wasatch Front. The Road Home provides emergency shelter and personalized case management to help people identify and overcome the obstacles that have led them to becoming homeless. In addition to operating the largest shelter in Utah, they also address a spectrum of needs that people experiencing homelessness encounter from supplying a bus token to providing comprehensive housing programs that help people move into permanent housing as quickly as possible. This time of year they are in need mostly of warm clothes, coats, shoes of all sizes and blankets.
We will have a trailer parked at The Draper Park (12500 South 1300 East Draper, Utah) parking lot on Saturday December 15 from 10 am until 2 pm where we will be accepting donations of the above mentioned items. We will have hot cocoa and donuts for anyone who swings by! If you are unable to come, but would still like to help, you can click here to make a monetary donation. Anything helps!!
